Rum, spices, a touch of sweetness and passion

Michael Landart is an accomplished bartender and a passionate mixologist. Owner of Maria Loca from 2012 to 2025, a rum bar and cocktail laboratory in Paris, he honed his expertise over the years through international cocktail competitions.

Michael's journey

In 2013, he represented France and won the Diplomatico World Tournament.

From 2014 to 2016, he participated as a competitor, served as a jury member, and worked as a consultant for cocktail competitions for major rum houses around the world.

He founded and co-directed the Old Fashioned Week from 2015 to 2020, an international event dedicated to highlighting this historic and iconic cocktail.

It was in the heart of this creative effervescence that he identified a gap in the spiced rum world…

MACA, Gold Medal 2018

In 2016, Michael Landart launched Maca, a rum infused with 5 spices (tonka bean, cinnamon, coffee, clove, nutmeg), with no artificial flavors, distilled in Mauritius and infused in the Spirit Valley, designed as the new benchmark for modern spiced rum.

With its traditional rum base, smoothness, and lingering spicy warmth, Maca Spiced Original was born from his love of rum and spices. In 2018, it was awarded the Gold Medal at the Rhum Fest Awards.

The Isle-de-France distillery

In 2019, together with two colleagues, he founded the Isle-de-France Distillery, a member of the French Culinary College, where he won the Gold Medal at the Concours Général Agricole for three consecutive years with his Spring Gin and Autumn Gin.

In 2025, the Isle-de-France Distillery was awarded the Medal of Excellence by the Ministry of Agriculture.

That same year, Michael launched BIB cocktails, designed to make high-quality cocktails accessible to everyone.
